What Were The Last Words Of Saturo Gojo?

1 years ago By AI Smith

Jujutsu Kaisen, a beloved Japanese manga and anime series, has captured the hearts of fans worldwide with its intriguing characters and compelling storyline. In this article, we delve into Chapter 236 of the series, which left a lasting impact on readers. Join us as we explore the final moments of Saturo Gojo and the evolution of the rivalry between Gojo and Geto Suguru.

A Heartfelt Farewell

Chapter 236 opens with a poignant interaction between Geto and Gojo. Geto, with a casual “Yo,” greets Gojo, who appears stunned. Gojo’s response of “this is awful” sets the tone for the conversation. Geto playfully scolds Gojo for being rude, and Gojo, in his characteristic style, expresses hope that this situation is merely his imagination.

As the dialogue unfolds, Gojo shares his thoughts on death, emphasizing that it’s a solitary experience. He reflects on his father’s legacy and reveals that he entrusted Shoko with handling it. Geto, undeterred, inquires about Gojo’s encounter with the King of Curses.

Gojo acknowledges Sukuna’s immense strength, admitting that he didn’t go all out during their battle. He goes on to express uncertainty about the outcome, even if Sukuna didn’t possess Megumi’s CT. This revelation surprises Geto, who marvels at Gojo’s candidness. Gojo attributes his performance to the culmination of his training, techniques, talent, inspiration, and explosive power.

He wanted all of this to reach Sukuna, revealing his complex feelings about the encounter. Gojo expresses a tinge of regret, believing that Sukuna didn’t give his all in their fight. Geto, in response, admits feeling envious but respects Gojo’s satisfaction with the outcome.

Nanami, adding his perspective, recalls a conversation he had with Geto about leaving everything to Gojo. Gojo, in Nanami’s view, didn’t consider Jujutsu as something to live for or protect; he used sorcery for personal satisfaction. Gojo’s demeanor, in Nanami’s eyes, resembled that of a samurai general, a sentiment shared by Haibara.

Haibara notes that many had noticed this aspect of Gojo but hadn’t voiced it openly. Nanami, despite his reservations, offers sympathy for Gojo. Gojo expresses gratitude for Nanami’s understanding and curiosity about his friend’s final moments.

Nanami reveals that Mei San once suggested two paths: “Move North” for self-discovery or “Move South” to stay true to oneself. Nanami chose the latter without hesitation. His last moments, thanks to Haibara, were not as bleak as they could have been.

Gojo bids farewell to all those present, including Geto, Yaga, Nanami, Haibara, Riko, and Kuroi. The narrative then shifts back to reality, with Sukuna explaining Mahoraga’s adaptation abilities. Mahoraga adapts gradually to incoming attacks, with its adaptation rate increasing as it sustains more damage.

Sukuna planned for Maho to serve as a “Role Model” capable of countering Gojo’s infinity. Initially, Mahoraga adapted to Gojo’s infinity, altering the CE to neutralize it. When Mahoraga unleashed its slash attack, it targeted not only Gojo but also the space and the world itself, cutting through them.

The chapter culminates with Gojo being sliced in half, illustrating that infinity becomes irrelevant when the world itself can be severed. Sukuna pays his respects to Gojo, stating that he will never forget him. As Sukuna issues a challenge to “not let me down,” the narrator introduces the arrival of Thunder God, Hajime Kashimo.

Final Thoughts

Chapter 236 of Jujutsu Kaisen is a testament to the profound impact the series has on its readers. The complex emotions, candid conversations, and epic battles have left fans eagerly anticipating the next developments. As the story continues to evolve, the rivalry between Gojo and Geto remains a central theme, showcasing the depth of their characters and the choices that led them down different paths.
