Fabiana Ecclestone, a Brazilian and the FIA Vice-President of Sports for South America, is the founder of the South American Esports Championship, whose championship matches will be held in the Max Arena in São Paulo.

“We are very excited to host the finals in São Paulo at Arena MAX during the week of the Brazilian Grand Prix” highlights Fabiana. “Virtual motorsport has been a great tool in bringing a young audience to access motorsport. Esports has grown a lot in terms of the number of participants and also as a business, attracting new audiences. It’s one of the channels we are trying to use to attract more people towards their first contact with motorsport”, she explains.

According to Fabiana, the initiative aims to integrate South American countries and practitioners of Esport. “I am very happy to offer this program to the region for the development of new talents. The support of the CBA through President Giovanni Guerra and Vinicius Prado from MAX Arena, has been pivotal for the materialization of this event”, she highlighted.

The event will feature a total of 11 finalists, who will compete in person in São Paulo to choose the champion, and each South American motorsport confederation will be free to choose its criteria. The winner will see the upcoming F1 race in São Paulo live from Interlagos. From September 29 to October 5, the first round of the virtual competition will be conducted online using iRacing.

The Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, Brazil, will be the grand location selected for the South American Esports Championship 2023 (SAEC 2023) from October 20 th to 22nd, 2023. League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and VALORANT are just a few of the esports games that will be featured in the event’s tournaments.
