John Cena X Overwatch 2: 16-Time WWE Champions Join The Game

The expert speculated some days ago that wrestler John Cena can join Overwatch 2 game. The rumors by these expert community has turned out to be reality as Overwatch 2 recently revealed John Cena as the mysterious hacker called ‘The Enigma’ in the game. 

The Enigma is the same hooded figure that was previously seen hacking live streams of several creators such as Flats, KarQ, Shroud, and Emongg. The hacker apparently broadcasted cryptic messages about the Null Sector attack.

John Cena’s first appearance caught attention on 4th August via the ‘Enigma Reveal’ video. This video also acts as the latest trailer for Overwatch 2 Season 6 Invasion.

Blizzard Collaborates with John Cena For Overwatch 2 Season 6 Invasion

WWE Superstar, John Cena has been officially onboarded by Blizzard Entertainment to promote Overwatch 2 for its upcoming Season 6 Invasion. It will kick off the new arc in the game’s lore. It will particularly showcases the attack of the militant Omnic group Null Sector as well as the retaliation by Overwatch.

John Cena as Enigma said, “The invasion is coming. The future is in jeopardy. I am the Enigma. I need to get a message out to our heroes. Null Sector’s forces are attacking Rio, Gothenburg, and Toronto. I need reinforcements in these locations. We need heroes, now or never. Together we will fight for the future. Answer the call heroes, it is time to fight back. Prepare for the invasion.”

Similarly commenting on his involvement with Overwatch 2, John Cena said “It’s been fun seeing the Overwatch community try to put a face to The Enigma. Sometimes a face you can’t see is just what the world needs to sound the alarm of a looming, worldwide threat.”

As per the AOTF, Blizzard intends to keep using John Cena as ‘The Enigma’. This means fans can expect more content around him on the Overwatch 2 Season 6 Invasion official website.

Prior to this, the community had discovered multiple clues about John Cena’s involvement with the project and Blizzard. And it seems like all the speculations were on point.

Now in the new game, it will be interesting to see how the characters of Enigma evolve through the season as John Cena will be seen assisting the players through the PvE (Player versus Environment) missions. Apart from this there could be other roles that the wrestler might play.
