Final Fantasy XVI Setting
Final Fantasy XVI is set in the empire of Valisthea, which is a glorious land. It houses the Mothercrystals, which fuels the magicks of the aether people in their everyday lives.
As the aether fades, lifeless deadlands spread further across the land of Valisthea. This is also causing the tentative peace among these nations to rupture, known as the Blight. Eikons, the powerful and deadly creatures, are adding to the disputes.
Final Fantasy XVI Story
The protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI is Clive Rosfield, the firstborn son to the Duke of Rosaria, and is the elder brother of Joshua Rosfield, the Dominant of the Phoenix.
Originally Clive was expected to inherit the Phoenix’s flame, becoming the Dominant himself. However, destiny had other plans. His brother Joshua became the Dominant. On the other hand, Clive is the protector for the powerful and vulnerable, Rosfield.
Clive’s family and life are transformed forever when an unexpected attack takes place on his home. His promising career as First Shield of the Ducal Army concludes in a tragedy caused by a mysterious new Eikon: Ifrit. This event sets Clive on a journey to seek revenge. His journey will change himself and Valisthea forever.
