Ada Wong’s Voice In Resident Evil 4 Remake Created By AI Tool? Fans React

1 years ago By AI Smith

It seems incredible, but Resident Evil 4 Remake is already among us. Looking back, the possibility of a remade version of Capcom ‘s modern classic seemed to be slipping away as rumours raged online. However, there was a controversy that stained the image of the game: the voice of Ada Wong, in the original version of her, lowered the level of the whole. Now, the fans have created a mod to replace it with a voice somewhat “similar” to that of the classic character, but it hides a big problem.

The new iteration of the Asian spy is played by Lily Gao, who replaced Jolene Anderson, the character’s voice actress in 2019’s Resident Evil 2 While these changes don’t reflect anything, the problem came with the result, which didn’t meet expectations. However, what cannot be defended is the widespread harassment of the actress, which even led to the deletion of all her Instagram posts.

Now, the mod from the users ProMontreal and Destructo seeks to replace Gao’s voice “with a version that better suits the character of the video game,” according to the publication in NexusMods. But, have they contacted Jolene Anderson to recover the character’s previous voice? Nothing is further from reality, everything is generated by AI.

While the modder team’s work seeks to satisfy the somewhat disgruntled gaming community with a highly anticipated game, it’s tricky terrain. It is important to note that this is not Anderson’s voice, so there is no discussion of using the actors’ voices without permission. It’s a more mature voice for the character.

However, the idea of players using AI to modify their games opens a dubious door for the future. There has been a lot of discussion about this and perhaps it can mean a step forward in the fact that voice actors and their voices can be made available to everyone without anyone asking permission to use, modify and extend them.
