1 years ago By AI Smith

The Pokémon Company (TPC) and Niantic have announced the availability of the immensely popular mobile game Pokémon GO in Hindi. The news was made as India observed Hindi Divas on Tuesday, September 14. Sixth in Asia and fifteenth overall, Hindi is the language in which the game has been localized. To better improve user experience, many Pokémon have also been given Hindi renames.

Since its debut in 1996, Pokémon has served as a unifying force in society as a legendary video game and entertainment franchise adored by millions of fans of all ages. With just 151 original creatures, Pokémon has grown to include more than 1,000 monsters today, capturing the interest of both youngsters and adults.

The Pokémon Company and Niantic add Hindi language support to Pokémon GO

TPC has chosen to rename 800+ Pokémon in Hindi in order to demonstrate its commitment to the India market in light of the country’s rapidly expanding fan base. The Indian fans of Pokémon would find this to be even more relatable. Everyone may now access the new Hindi names on the Pokédex’s official page, and they will soon be able to look up information on all Pokémon in Hindi.

Pokémon GO Hindi Launch

Using augmented reality (AR) and the placement of exclusive Pokémon in various locations, TPC and Niantic collaborated in 2016 to make the experience of catching Pokémon realistic and relatable. This encouraged people to explore more and grow the community of global fans. With the addition of Hindi language support, TPC and Niantic have improved the overall experience for the Indian Pokémon GO community. Players will be able to fully immerse themselves in the Pokémon GO world thanks to this new feature.

Omar Tellez, VP for Emerging Markets, Niantic, on the announcement, said, “Niantic remains devoted to fostering a global community that transcends boundaries, and the addition of Hindi language support is a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment towards India and its rapidly increasing gaming audience. The Hindi version of Pokémon GO will promote inclusivity, encourage engagement, and enable more players to embark on their Pokémon GO adventures. Since the launch of the game in 2016, we have added over five lakh Pokéstops across India and the company also has been organising several on-ground activations. We are certain that this step by us with The Pokémon Company will further help us in widening our audience base in the country.”

Additionally, Niantic is holding a month-long exclusive event for Indian gamers to commemorate the Hindi localization. Field Research, Timed Research, and Bonuses with exclusive rewards are just a few of the interesting components that make up this in-game event. Pokémon GO has also changed the pricing for coin bundles on the Google Play and Apple Stores, increased accessibility for Trainers all throughout the nation, and reiterated its commitment to the Indian market by introducing an exclusive coin bonus for the Pokémon GO Web Store.

TPC has taken it a step further by releasing a short video named “The Journey of One Dream” in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali to make the occasion even more meaningful for Indian fans. The story, which centers on a father and his kid, emphasizes the value of strong family ties. It emphasizes the possibility of making goals a reality and supports the notion that no aim is too small. People of all ages can identify with the movie since we have all experienced a time when our relationships were tested because of our hectic lifestyles. Starting on September 15th, the video will be available on the Pokémon Asia Official YouTube account.

Celebrating the Indian fan community, Takato Utsunomiya, Chief Operating Officer, The Pokémon Company, said, ”Since the beginning, Pokémon’s appeal has transcended generations and cultures making it a worldwide phenomenon bringing people together through the joy of play and discovery. India is one of our key markets. We believe the localization into Hindi marks the starting point of a long journey to come. We aim to firmly establish ourselves in India with our long-term vision and hope to further enrich the Pokémon world hand-in-hand with the Pokémon fan community.”

The emphasis on India will grow as Pokémon works to win over more people in that nation. So, keep checking back because India has a ton more amazing things planned in the future!
