5 Magical Game Series Like Harry Potter

1 years ago By AI Smith

There are alternative methods for us witches and wizards trapped in human bodies to live out our magical desires through video games, even though we may not have ever received a good Harry Potter game (and, to be honest, we probably never will).

Witchbrook, the planned magic school role-playing game, is still a long way off, sadly. Here are five additional games that will make you feel almost exactly like a Hogwarts student as we wait for the release of this lovely 32-bit top-down universe from the creators of Stardew Valley.

5 Magical Game Series Like Harry Potter

1. Wizard’s Choice (iOS)

If Wizards Unite isn’t your cup of tea but you still want to experience the enchantment of Harry Potter from the comfort of your smartphone, be sure to check out Wizard’s Choice, an interactive novel set in a magical world.

Although this choose-your-own-adventure style story appears to be a passive experience, you’ll actually feel as though you’re playing an RPG due to all the twists and turns the plot takes. As the plot develops, players will keep track of their health, mana, and gold and make decisions that affect which of the game’s numerous endings they receive.

2. Broomstick League (Steam)

Nothing beats the idea of actually flying in the air on a broomstick. Even while flying brooms are unlikely to appear in the real world, there is a game that just might satisfy our quaffle-sized hearts.

As they battle against teams, score goals, and collect points to win a game of “Quidditch” (though it’s technically not named that in this game), players in Broomstick League are mounted on their own magical brooms. Broomstick League also provides participants with a wand that enables them to perform spells against rivals or give themselves an advantage in the air, as if that weren’t fantastic enough. Although the game is now in beta testing with publisher Blue Isle and developer Virtual Basement, the formal release is anticipated for early this year.

3. Wands (PlayStation VR, Oculus, Steam)

Want to experience the magic and adventure as if you had complete control over them? Check out Wands, a first-person virtual reality experience that lets you engage in thrilling battles with other internet users.

Pick up your wand and become the most powerful wizard ever known by learning a range of spells. Battle other wizards and witches, or practice new spells in your private workshop as you polish your abilities. You’ll feel as though you’ve actually entered J.K. Rowling’s universe thanks to the competitive action and gorgeously large and detailed fighting grounds.

4. Spellbreak (PlayStation 4)

In the brand-new game Spellbreak by Proletariat Inc., battle royale and magic collide. The game was first introduced along with a trailer during PlayStation’s State of Play event in December. In the trailer, three witches and wizards fly down in a manner reminiscent of the Portkey, and they quickly find themselves engaged in a fierce magical conflict with rival witches and wizards.

The colourful, medieval-inspired look of the third-person game is reminiscent of your favourite fight scenes from the Harry Potter films. On PCs, an alpha was made available earlier in the year; however, a beta version for the PlayStation 4 won’t be accessible until the following spring.

5. Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time (PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows)

Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time is an action role-playing game based on the wonderful anime series of the same name. It places players in the role of Akko, a witch-in-training who attends the Luna Nova Magic Academy, a prestigious institution for young witches.

In this wonderful story, players can explore dungeons, utilise witchcraft, and cast spells.  The game has two unique game modes: a 3D mode for exploring the school and a 2.5D action mode for fighting adversaries and monsters. Little With Academia emphasises the strength and value of friendship between Akko and her pals, exactly like Harry Potter and his, in addition to the apparent magical parallels between the two.
